At ADM Antiques & Collectables we understand a death in the family is a daunting and difficult time. We will professionally value all the items of worth and provide you with a valuation document ready to assist you in filling out the IHT407 form (Household and Personal Goods) for HMRC so the estate pays the correct amount of tax.
My Story
Alan McIlwain, owner of ADM Antiques & Collectables, began trading at the age of 13, buying and selling vintage comics and annuals.
Over the following eight years, he developed this passion into a respected business, Al’s Annuals, which he sold at the age of 21 to further his career.
Alan gained seven invaluable years’ experience at an Auctioneer based in the Cotswolds, specialising in books, printed paper, and ephemera, before moving to Suffolk to join another auctioneers where he spent a further ten years as an antiques and collectables valuer, auctioneer, and probate specialist. It is whilst with this auctioneer Alan has broadened his knowledge and expertise to all areas of the antiques & collectables market.
Alan has extensive knowledge across a wide range of areas, regularly being involved with nationwide valuation events and carrying out HMRC-compliant probate valuations. He established ADM Antiques & Collectables to provide professional probate valuation services and to trade in quality antiques and collectables.
